FLOW ImplicationOntology {
DOMAIN:
AI Core
-> Ontologies

-> Propositional Logic
-> Implication Ontology
PURPOSE:
Represent logical implication as a machine-interpretable binary connective relating an antecedent to a consequent within an explicitly declared logical system. In classical propositional logic, material implication A -> B is false exactly when A is true and B is false, and true in all other valuations. The ontology models implication identity, notation, antecedent, consequent, scope, truth function, truth table, necessary and sufficient conditions, equivalence to disjunction, contraposition, inference rules, conditional proof, entailment, normal forms, SAT encodings, natural-language conditionals, vacuous truth, non-classical implication, ambiguity, versioning and provenance. It prevents material implication from being confused with causation, temporal succession, explanation, correlation, probability, relevance, programming control flow or natural-language conditionals whose semantics exceed truth-functional implication.
